Why lavera products regularly receive ÖKO-TEST awards
At lavera Natural Beauty, we are proud that our products regularly receive awards from the independent consumer magazine ÖKO-TEST. These awards confirm the outstanding quality and sustainability of our products. Here you will learn who is behind ÖKO-TEST, what requirements must be met to receive an ÖKO-TEST award, and what the ratings "Good" and "Very Good" mean in each test.
Who is behind ÖKO-TEST?
ÖKO-TEST is an independent consumer magazine that regularly tests products from a wide range of categories. The goal of ÖKO-TEST is to examine products for harmful substances, potential pollutants, and their effects, to promote environmentally conscious behavior, and to support consumers in their purchasing decisions.
For a test, ÖKO-TEST anonymously buys the products to be examined on the market to ensure that the tested products correspond to what customers can actually buy. The project managers of ÖKO-TEST regularly review the testing program for each individual test together with external experts to ensure that these tests always reflect the current state of research. The products are then analyzed in independent and accredited laboratories. Ingredients are identified that are not allowed in cosmetic products according to the EU Cosmetics Regulation or that ÖKO-TEST believes should not be present in cosmetic products or even food.
It is important that ÖKO-TEST continuously adapts its test criteria to the latest scientific findings. A criterion that is considered particularly important today may therefore carry less weight in the overall assessment of a product in the future.
The self-defined, strict test criteria of ÖKO-TEST contribute to the fact that lavera products meet these specific high-quality standards. The regular awards from ÖKO-TEST confirm that lavera products meet the high-quality standards of ÖKO-TEST.
What do ÖKO-TEST awards with the ratings "Good" and "Very Good" mean?
Our products are regularly rated "Good" or "Very Good" by ÖKO-Test. But what exactly does that mean?
The rating "Good" means that the tested product meets the strict requirements of ÖKO-TEST, fulfills all criteria, and only minor deviations were found.
The rating "Very Good" is awarded when the product not only meets the criteria but also performs particularly well in all test categories. The "Very Good" rating is also given to a product whose quality far exceeds the legal minimum standards.
