lavera THOMAS HAASE FOUNDATION

Natural Beauty with Attitude

For over 35 years, the same principle has been behind every lavera formula: What is good for the skin must also be good for nature and the environment. The Thomas Haase Foundation is the logical consequence of this commitment to sustainability. Holistic. Preserve. Act.

An attitude that lasts

A forest that breathes. And grows.

Children against electronic waste. Everyone wins.

An attitude that lasts

Sustainability is not a communication strategy at lavera – it is a way of life for the company founder and lavera natural cosmetics inventor Thomas Haase and is part of the company’s DNA. The establishment of the lavera Thomas Haase Foundation and the contribution of his company to the foundation was his next logical step: because sustainability is at the core of a foundation’s essence and, as the owner of the corporate group, it secures this commitment in the long term – for the brand, for jobs, and for everything we want to protect in nature.

Founded in 2020, legally recognized in 2021. Managed under the supervision of a competent foundation board by a three-member foundation executive board with Prof. Dr. Hans Fleisch as chairman and Dr. Andreas Richter as deputy chairman; they are among the most renowned foundation experts in Germany.

“With the foundation, we support environmental projects and at the same time promote educational projects that deal with climate protection education.”

How the foundation is involved

  • 12 hectares of foundation forest - nature growing in the Süntel, Lower Saxony
  • 56+ tons or 110,000+ pieces of electronic waste collected and properly recycled
  • 1,870 students from 76 schools - actively making a real impact

A forest that breathes. And grows.

In the Süntel forest area near Hardegsen lies our own foundation forest – around 12 hectares of mixed deciduous forest. No logging. No obligation to generate profit. Goal: to let it grow naturally, protect it, and make a natural oasis tangible. But first, the climate-damaged forest needed a helping hand and was selectively reforested.

When the trees are strong enough, we plan a flowering meadow for wild bees and insects, a collaboration with a beekeeping farm, and
an adventure trail – so that nature is not just a concept, but becomes an experience.

Children against electronic waste. Everyone wins.

Old toaster. Broken phone. Forgotten laptop. Almost every household has it – the electronic waste that just waits. In the E-Waste Race, schools in the Hanover region turn this into a competition with real impact and become true environmental ambassadors.

In 2022, the Lavera Thomas Haase Foundation and the initiative “Das macht Schule” brought the project, which originated in the Netherlands, to Lower Saxony. Twice a year, thanks to the Lavera Thomas Haase Foundation, up to 10 schools compete in a friendly contest to collect as much electronic waste as possible – properly recycled by partner ELPRO. The winners are the circular economy – over 110,000 items have already been collected that can be recycled. The private households – because recycling creates order and a good feeling. And of course, the students, who learn through the project how to make a difference together with fun. And no regular class can teach that in this way.
