Our actions follow sustainable principles
The six REs of sustainability*
REDUCE - less is more
True sustainability begins with conscious decisions. We reduce wherever possible – less unused materials, less energy consumption, more responsibility. For greater efficiency, less impact, and a future in harmony with nature.
- We reduce the total waste volume in the company by at least 20%
- We reduce energy consumption through gentle cold and low-temperature processes
- We care for the environment and use fully biodegradable raw materials* (*OECD)
REUSE - Use multiple times
Every packaging deserves a second chance. We give materials a new life because what once exists can become something again – for Natural Beauty that also thinks sustainably when it comes to packaging.
- We want to avoid using new plastic in primary packaging as much as possible (except for decorative cosmetics)
- We use at least 70% recycled material in primary packaging
- We use 100% recycled fibers in secondary and transport packaging
RECYCLE - Closing the loops
Closing cycles means for us: continuously reusing materials and preserving their value. We achieve recycling rates that demonstrate sustainability is measurable and confirm our commitment.
- We ensure the preservation of material value in the recycling stream
- We achieve a packaging recycling rate of at least 85% for the standard range
- We achieve a 100% recycling rate for paper, secondary, and transport packaging
REFILL - Refill instead of throw away
Refill instead of buying new: We reduce packaging material and enable you to actively conserve resources – without compromising on quality.
- We are introducing refill products for the categories hand soap, shower, and shampoo
- Less packaging, same quality
- Actively conserve resources with every refill
RENEWABLE - Renewable Energy
The sun works with us because true Natural Beauty requires real natural energy. For us, this is more than sustainability; it is a philosophy.
- We use 100% green electricity in the company
- We generate 20% of our energy needs ourselves with our large photovoltaic system at the Bantorf site
- We will continue to cover our electricity needs with self-generated solar energy
RENATURE - Restore Nature
For us, renaturation means taking action instead of just talking. We plant, protect, and restore natural habitats. Because intact ecosystems are the foundation for our future.
- We protect forest areas and support their owners for intact forests of tomorrow
- We protect and restore climate-damaged areas and forests in Europe (DE, AT, CH, FR, IT, PL) through planting campaigns with young people
- At the same time, we preserve ecologically valuable habitats and thus promote biodiversity
