lavera nominated twice for the 14th German Sustainability Award

lavera gleich zwei Mal für 14. Deutschen Nachhaltigkeitspreis nominiert

Hanover, 08/24/2021 - The German Sustainability Award is presenting the national award for outstanding achievements in the field of sustainability for the 14th time. Manufacturer Laverana and the brand lavera Natural Beauty have prevailed against 1,000 competitors and have been nominated twice for the prestigious award.

Deo cream nominated for "Sustainable Design"

lavera's Natural & Strong deodorant cream has only been on the market since spring 2021 and is already on the prestigious nominee list for the "Sustainable Design" competition. Sustainable design is becoming increasingly important and is part of the product positioning of the Natural Beauty brand. The cream jar is made from 100% recycled plastic and aluminum. Its self-developed Natural Beauty deodorant formula also fills a gap in the cosmetics range. The effectiveness of 48h+ is comparable to that of antiperspirants. However, the deodorant contains only natural ingredients that combat odor formation and is free from controversial chlorinated aluminum salts. All ingredients are biodegradable, and a large portion comes from certified organic farming.

Laverana nominated as a sustainable company

Laverana stands out as a natural cosmetics manufacturer in the "Companies" competition with its consistent, sustainable approach and has impressed with its forward-looking contributions to increasing "biodiversity." Unavoidable CO2 emissions are offset through emission reduction certificates and the support of development and climate protection projects in Kenya and Peru (ClimatePartner ID 12310-15610-100199) to achieve climate neutrality.

In Peru, the company currently protects 5,023 hectares of rainforest, preserving the unique animal diversity as well as the habitat of 400 families who live in harmony with nature through sustainable Brazil nut cultivation in the Amazon region. The natural cosmetics manufacturer is also committed locally, with 30,000 trees being planted this year alone in the Hanover area to strengthen the regional ecosystem and preserve animal habitats.

A comprehensive action program also aims to continuously reduce resource consumption and CO2 emissions, for example with the newly built production and logistics center in Bantorf as a reflection of the company culture. Compared to conventional buildings, the sustainable construction method alone saves around 233,000 kilowatt-hours and approximately 82,000 kilograms of CO2 emissions annually.
