Hanover, 13.10.2023 - The natural cosmetics manufacturer Laverana GmbH & Co. KG is among the three finalists of the 16th German Sustainability Award with its brand lavera. At Europe’s most important sustainability competition, the natural cosmetics manufacturer from the Hanover region was named a finalist in the cosmetics category. After winning the 15th German Sustainability Award in 2023, Laverana GmbH & Co. KG was able to convince the jury again this year: As one of three finalists, the company behind the brand lavera is among the TOP 3 companies in the German economy that are driving the beauty market forward with diverse approaches through their sustainable pioneering role.

For the 140 jurors of the 16th German Sustainability Award, there are many reasons why Laverana GmbH & Co. KG has once again become a finalist: certified Natural Beauty, free from microplastics, without animal testing, and without environmentally harmful ingredients. Since its founding more than 35 years ago, the company has been a pioneer of Natural Beauty and has always considered the well-being of the environment, people, and animals in product development. In the cultivation and sourcing of raw materials, Laverana offers the more sustainable solution by using natural, preferably vegan or organic ingredients, paying attention to local biodiversity and fair compensation. The Natural Beauty manufacturer improves the ecological balance of soaps, creams, and shampoos and packages as sustainably as possible.

The German Sustainability Award is the national award for outstanding achievements in sustainability in business, municipalities, and research. The German Sustainability Award is presented by the German Sustainability Award Foundation. At the 16th German Sustainability Award, for the first time, the pioneers of sustainability in 100 industries of the German economy, including the cosmetics sector, will be honored. Procedure: Based on publicly available sustainability data, the Berlin start-up score4more conducted AI-supported research, which forms the basis of the new competition. Afterwards, industry juries decide on the respective industry leaders based on company profiles, scores, and personal experiences.
