Organic Mint

The peppermint extract obtained from the leaves and shoots of the plant is able to counteract inflammation and has an antibacterial effect. Its main constituents are essential oils, including menthol, as well as triterpenes and flavonoids. Thanks to its skin-clarifying and cooling effect, organic mint acts to refresh the skin.

Zinc Lactate

Zinc lactate is the zinc salt of lactic acid. It regulates sebum production and thereby helps to prevent clogged pores and the occurrence of acne. The antimicrobial properties of the zinc ions inhibit the growth of bacteria that cause acne and have an anti-inflammatory effect at cellular level. Zinc lactate soothes irritated skin. Redness, itching and irritation caused by skin conditions such as acne, eczema or rosacea are alleviated and the skin's natural healing process is promoted.

Our Power Acids

Salicylic acidazelaic acid und PHA provide an exfoliating effect

Laverna_Stills_Acid_Bubbles_034

Salicylic acid is one of the beta hydroxy acids (BHA), which penetrate deeper into the layers of skin than alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and therefore cleanse and exfoliate thoroughly. The natural plant active ingredient from willow bark has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect, removes dead skin cells and promotes cell renewal. Redness is reduced and surplus oil is removed. The degreasing and pore-refining properties of salicylic acid make it particularly effective in the care of blemished and combination skin.

This naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid prevents the formation of blackheads and inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause acne. Reducing inflammation can also reduce the size of the pores, making them appear less visible. Azelaic acid reduces redness and, as a gentle scrub, removes dead skin cells. It also promotes skin renewal.
The natural polyhydroxycarboxylic acid, abbreviated to PHA, is obtained from glucose by means of a fermentation process. It produces a gentle scrub that removes dead skin cells without irritating the skin. Unlike AHAs and BHAs, it does not penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, but acts directly on the surface. This means that it is particularly skin-friendly and is suitable even for sensitive skin. PHA promotes natural cell renewal and also supplies moisture.

FAQ about our Pure Beauty products

Here we answer all questions regarding our Pure Beauty skincare range.

We continuously monitor the market and focus specifically on the needs of our customers. With the Pure Beauty skincare range, we have developed a line tailored especially to the requirements of blemished and combination skin. We have incorporated trending active ingredients such as PHA, BHA, and azelaic acid to ensure a modern, effective, yet gentle skincare experience. The range is complemented by innovative trend products like the Liquid Refiner and the Serum, allowing us to meet our customers’ needs even more effectively.
3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask: Nothing has changed here – the “proven formula” remains the same and continues to provide thorough cleansing.
Liquid Refiner: A completely new product in the range, combining innovative care with effectiveness. Serum: Also a new addition – an intensive, highly concentrated skincare product.
Spot Treatment: Now with a new base and a revised formula that contains zinc – an ingredient known to effectively combat blemishes.
With these adjustments, we combine tried-and-tested elements with innovation to make the Pure Beauty range even more effective and gentle on the skin.
Our market research showed that many customers place great value on a fast-absorbing day care product that does not clog pores and can be easily integrated into their daily skincare routine. As an alternative to a classic fluid, we now offer a highly concentrated serum that can be tailored to individual skin needs while providing a light and pleasant skin feel.
These products have different purposes and are designed to meet different needs.
The Liquid Refiner and the 3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask both have exfoliating effects. The Liquid Refiner is a chemical exfoliant, while the 3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask is a mechanical exfoliant. Depending on your personal preference, you can choose the product—and therefore the type of exfoliation—that suits you best. The Pure Beauty Serum also has an exfoliating effect, as it contains natural PHAs. This ingredient gently exfoliates and promotes skin regeneration.
This depends on the specific product. In general, when using our fruit acid or AHA-containing Pure Beauty products, we recommend the additional use of sun protection. Vitamin C should not be a problem. Nevertheless: always use daily sun protection!
Do not use the Liquid Refiner in combination with or in addition to the 3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask. This is the only exception. Otherwise, all products can be combined.
Both the Liquid Refiner and our 3in1 Cleanser are exfoliating products. To avoid damaging the skin barrier, chemical exfoliating products should generally not be used together with a mechanical exfoliant. Our 3in1 Cleanser is a relatively mild mechanical exfoliant for daily use, while our Pure Beauty Refiner contains a relatively high proportion of the chemical exfoliant azelaic acid and should not be used together with mechanical exfoliants and/or other chemical exfoliants (e.g. fruit acid or AHA peels). Ideally, you should use our Pure Beauty Liquid Refiner in combination with moisturizing and barrier-strengthening products, for example from our basis sensitiv or Barrier Balance range.
No.
Gradually increase use to a maximum of four applications per week. One cotton pad soaked with the product is enough to distribute it evenly over the face.
Apply the product in the evening after gentle cleansing using a cotton pad to the face, avoiding the eye and mouth areas. Do not rinse off; leave it on the skin to allow it to work fully. Important: Do not use it in combination with the Pure Beauty 3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask during the same application, so as not to overburden the skin.
The eye and mouth areas should be avoided because these areas are more sensitive than the rest of the facial skin. Active ingredients (e.g. acids) could cause irritation in these areas.
Our recommendation is to use the product once daily so that your skin can first get used to it.
Yes, we recommend daily sun protection.
In principle, any lavera natural cosmetic product can be used during pregnancy, unless your doctor or midwife has advised you to avoid certain cosmetic ingredients during this time.

Our products comply with the requirements of the Cosmetics Regulation and are assessed as safe for health by specially trained professionals as part of a comprehensive safety evaluation. If, for reasons of precautionary consumer protection, there are any indications that a product should not be used during pregnancy, we will clearly indicate this on the packaging and in our online shop. The Liquid Refiner, for example, is labeled accordingly and should not be used during pregnancy.
The Pure Beauty Liquid Refiner contains azelaic acid, which is not recommended during pregnancy.
For blemished skin, a night care product with a light formula, such as a fluid or gel texture, is suitable. Rich textures should be avoided to prevent stressing the skin. Therefore, we recommend the Hydro Cream-Gel.
Our Pure Beauty Spot Treatment is a product that you can apply directly and specifically to pimples on your face. You only need a small amount of the product and it is best used in the evening and left on overnight. Its formulation dries out pimples locally, visibly reduces their size as well as redness and inflammation—in just 8 hours.
The Pure Beauty Spot Treatment does not become transparent after application. The product contains, among other things, kaolin and bentonite. These provide a lightening effect on the skin.
The Spot Treatment is the last step in your Pure Beauty routine.
AHA (alpha hydroxy acids): e.g. citric acid (from sugar cane).
BHA (beta hydroxy acids): e.g. salicylic acid (from willow bark).
PHA (poly hydroxy acids): e.g. gluconolactone (from fruit sugars).
Yes, they can occur naturally.
AHA:
  • Improves skin texture, reduces fine lines and pigmentation spots.
  • They help to even out skin tone, refine pores, reduce signs of skin aging, and reduce mild hyperpigmentation and scars.
  • AHAs are ideal for dry and mature skin, but are also suitable for other skin types, as they improve the skin’s moisture.

BHA:
  • Penetrates deeper into the pores, dissolves excess oil and sebum in clogged pores and dead skin cells.
  • Clears clogged pores
  • Reduces redness
  • Relieves inflammation
  • Smoothes sensitive skin

PHA:
Gentler exfoliation, penetrates less deeply into the skin. Has antioxidant, keratolytic, and comedolytic effects. Removes dead skin cells, gives a radiant complexion, minimizes pimples and blackheads, and stimulates cell renewal.
Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid and is not a hydroxy acid (AHA, BHA, or PHA). It is known for its diverse uses. It is a mild acid with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and sebum-regulating properties and can be derived from natural sources such as grains (wheat, rye, barley).
The azelaic acid content in the Refiner is 5%. It is only contained in the Refiner.

The percentage of 5% means that 5% is contained. Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid known for its wide range of dermatological applications. Its mode of action is multifactorial. Through its comedolytic effect, azelaic acid prevents the formation of blackheads, inhibits the growth of bacteria, and reduces inflammation. Additionally, it can reduce redness and help fade pigmentation spots.

We understand your wish to know the exact percentage of salicylic acid. However, for competitive reasons, we do not disclose the exact concentration of our ingredients. The effectiveness of a cosmetic product depends not only on the concentration of a single active ingredient. The formulation as a whole, including the combination and quality of all ingredients, plays a crucial role in the effectiveness and compatibility of the product. Our products contain an effective blend of ingredients, specifically tailored to the needs of each skin type and designed to work synergistically for the best results.

A higher concentration of an ingredient does not necessarily make the product more effective. In fact, too high a concentration of certain ingredients can sometimes cause skin irritation or hypersensitivity reactions. Therefore, it is important for skincare products to have a balanced and well-thought-out formulation that takes the optimal concentration of each ingredient into account. The combination and interaction of ingredients are often more important for a product’s effectiveness than the concentration of a single active ingredient.
To allow the serum and the Liquid Refiner to be compared with competing products, these two products display percentage information. For other ingredients: text with formulation secrets + the overall composition of a product (see above).
A chemical peel removes dead skin cells with acids (e.g. AHA, BHA) and cleanses pores. It smooths the skin, refines pores, and reduces blemishes and pigmentation—gently and effectively!
This is very individual and depends on the skin type. In general:

Effect with Spot Treatment: Improvement can be seen after 8 hours.

Effect with Liquid Refiner: This gently removes dead skin cells with the azelaic acid it contains. After the first application, the skin can already look more even and clearer, but the full effect usually appears after a few days.

Effect with 3in1: Used as a scrub, the 3in1 directly and mechanically removes dead skin cells. The skin surface can immediately look smoother and fresher. Blemishes such as clogged pores can improve directly after the first application, as the pores are cleansed.

Effect with Serum: Works immediately.
Products for blemished skin can dry out the skin if they are too degreasing or contain high concentrations of active ingredients such as alcohol or acids. However, our products are formulated so that the alcohol they contain can optimally fulfill its function without overburdening your skin. In our natural care products, alcohol is used, among other things, as an extraction agent for the high-quality plant ingredients and does not impair their care properties. Due to the low alcohol concentration in our formulations, possible drying out or irritation of your skin is therefore not common.
Yes, initial worsening can occur with Pure Beauty products.
We have conducted studies with the product in which the test subjects confirmed this effect.
Yes, a peel can remove blackheads! Especially acids (e.g. salicylic acid, azelaic acid) penetrate the pores, dissolve sebum, and help prevent new blackheads.
We recommend the Pure Beauty range from the age of 12.
The Pure Beauty range is fundamentally suitable for teenagers due to their skin needs. It is optimal for fighting blemished skin.
We recommend the Liquid Refiner. It can improve the absorption of active ingredients after use, making subsequent skincare products (such as anti-aging care) more effective.
For sensitive skin: We recommend starting with the serum, then you can use a suitable day care and the spot treatment. If the products are well tolerated, you can use the other Pure Beauty products.

For blemish-prone and combination skin: Yes, the Pure Beauty range was even developed for the care of blemished and combination skin.
No, there is nothing special to consider.
The closure of the product has been optimized. It is now a softline closure.
Only in the bottle.
The pipette should be disposed of in the residual waste.
The exfoliating particles in the 3in1 Cleansing Peeling Mask are made of hydrated silica
