How to use body lotion
Squeeze a small amount of body lotion to your palms and massage into the skin in circular motions, adding more product if necessary. This promotes the blood circulation and helps the skin to better absorb the lotion.
How much to use
The amount of body lotion you will need depends on the size of the area you want to moisturise and how dry your skin is. A hazelnut-sized amount generally suffices for one arm. You can always add more if needed.
Where to apply body lotion
Body lotion can be used all over the body, paying special attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and feet. Although body lotions can theoretically be used on the face, they are specially formulated for the needs of the body. The skin on the face has slightly different needs, so we recommend that you use a face care product that's tailored to your skin type.
When to apply body lotion
The best time to apply body lotion is directly after a shower or bath, when the skin is still slightly damp. This is because showering or bathing can strip the skin of its protective oils. Applying an additional body lotion before going to bed can be particularly beneficial for dry skin.
How often to use body lotion
This depends on your skin type. However, it is generally considered good practice to apply your body lotion once daily after a shower or bath.
Why body lotion can feel sticky
Body lotion may leave the skin feeling sticky if it is applied too thickly to be fully absorbed. It is often helpful to use less and rub it in well.
